RHAPSODY (YOUTH FEST)

Rhapsody is the most awaited event of the year in the city of Jamshedpur. It is a youth festival which has being celebrated since the foundation of JYOTI. The name Rhapsody has become a catchphrase of Jamshedpur city. Nearly twenty schools participate in this event and JYOTI members compete with each other in various competitions and showcase their talents in acting, dance, music, etc.

Drawing & Painting

Rhapsody conducts drawing and painting competitions as one of its off-stage events every year. The themes and modality of the competition changes every year. The organizers bring creativity in introducing wall paintings, umbrella paintings, face painting, etc. 

Videography

Rhapsody includes short video making competition with beautiful titles with an aim to build skills in acting and video  editing. The participants are given a topic on which they are expected to shoot a video. The edited videos are played on stage for evaluation. 

Quiz & Debate

Rhapsody not only conducts events related to entertainment but also events that aims to enhance intellectual capacity of the participants. Quiz and debates are two events which have become part of Youth Festival every year that gives a chance to test their intellectual ability. 

Poetry Writing

Literary competition like writing a short poetry or a poem in Hindi or English is included in Rhapsody competitions. In this competition, the participants are given a topic to compose a poem on. This aims to bring out the creative writing skills in our members. 

Acting & Mimicry

Acting and mimicry is part of Rhapsody competitions every year. The participants are given a topic on the spot to act out or do mimicry on a given topic. This aims to bring the acting talents in every participant who wishes to grow as an actor in this field.

Ad-mad Show

Rhapsody conducts advertisement acting competitions as one of the on-stage events.  The themes and modality of the competition changes every year. The organizers creatively introduce theme based advertisement that is displayed on the stage. 

Dance Drama

Dance is the breath of Rhapsody. Every JYOTI unit wants to give its best in dance creatively. To do so every team hires the best choreographers to train the participants. This event is held as one of the on-stage events that entertains the audience besides conveying a message.

Ramp Walk

Rhapsody is incomplete without Ramp Walk. The organizing committee proposes different themes for a creative display of fashion design which is embedded with ecological or cultural variations. Eminent fashion designers from the city are invited to be the judges for this event. 

Band & Music

Rhapsody conducts competitions in band and music as one of the on-stage events every year. The themes and modality of the competition changes every year. The organizers bring creativity in introducing themes on which music and singing has to be done by the participants. 

RHAPSODY 2017

Rhapsody 2017 was held on 3 September in Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School. Mrs.Daisy Irani was the Chief Guest. Under the guidance of Ms.Mitali Mascharak and Ms.Suranjana Biswas, the Moderators of JYOTI Unit of Loyola School, the organizing committee led by Harsh Choudhuri did a splendid job.Carmel Junior College bagged the overall championship while DBMS English was adjudged runner up. 

RHAPSODY 2018

Rhapsody 2018 was held on 22 November  in Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School. Under the guidance of Ms.Mitali Mascharak and Ms.Suranjana Biswas, the Moderators of JYOTI Unit of Loyola School, the organizing committee led by Shriti Vaidya made it a grand success. Sacred Heart School was the overall champion while Carmel Junior College became the runner up at the end of the day.

RHAPSODY 2019

Rhapsody 2019 was held on 9 November in Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School. Under the guidance of Ms.Jjyoti Srivastava and Ms.Tahmina Akhatar, the Moderators of JYOTI Unit of Loyola School, the organizing committee led by Shriti Vaidya made it a grand success. Carmel Junior College became the overall champion while DBMS English school was adjudged as the first runner up.

RHAPSODY 2022

Rhapsody 2022 was held on 26 November in Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School. Under the guidance of Mr Anthony Rodrigues, the Moderators of JYOTI Unit of Loyola School, the organizing committee made it a memorable one. Carmel Junior College bagged the overall championship prize while Sacred Heart School was adjudged as the First Runner up.

RHAPSODY 2024

Rhapsody 2024, an interschool event was organized by in ST. MARY’S ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL on Tuesday, 13th August 2024. The event was inaugurated by Shri IAS Manish Kumar, DDC, the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony. And Shri. Hemant Gupta , Head Tata steel adventure foundation and sports academy was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. The event was a great success because of the guidance and support of the school principal Rev. Fr. Vernon D’Souza, Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Alex Darwin and Rev. Fr. Petrus Guria. The JYOTI CLUB teacher coordinators were Tr. Reena Lazarus and Tr. Priya Joseph, the building base of  Rhapsody’24. The event had 7 off-stage and 4 on-stage events. The 2nd Runner Up was Carmel Junior College, the 1st Runner Up was DBMS Kadma and the overall champion was Sacred Heart Convent School.
