Moved by the Motto of JYOTI and its ever-ready attitude, the Members immerse in social work of different kinds both collectively and unit-wise. For JYOTI humanity comes first which is why the Movement has been hailed over the years and now it readily ventures into doing humanitarian services. The Organization inculcates a spirit of service and fosters values of compassion and service in its Members. 

Visiting Old Age Homes

JYOTI Members of every Unit visit Old age Homes in Jamshedpur. They spend quality time with the homeless inmates. They carry edibles for distribution among the inmates. The JYOTI Members come back home with a feeling of satisfaction to have shared their joy and happiness with the homeless aged.

Flood Relief Drive

JYOTI has responded to emergencies in the past and continues to do so till today. This time it was Assam flood victims the collection was made. JYOTI went on relief drive in August, 2018 and collected a substantial amount of rice, daal, biscuits, etc. and dispatched them in two trucks in collaboration with Loyola Alumni Association (LAA).

Green Initiatives

JYOTI organizes high level seminars and rallies in the city of Jamshedpur to spread awareness among students about the environmental crisis. As part of caring for the environment, every JYOTI Unit undertakes tree plantation drives in their own campus or at the vicinities.

Health Check up Camps

As part of healthcare work JYOTI Members organize blood donation camps, eye check camps, etc. in their Units through the supervision and guidance of their Moderators. Some centres organize health check up camps for the poor people of the vicinities free of cost through the help of medical personnel.

Visiting Orphanages

The orphans and abandoned children seek human touch for their growth. JYOTI Members of almost every Unit reach out to such children sheltered in different centres in Jamshedpur. Some JYOTI units make the better-off children share their stationeries with the needy ones.

Bread Bank Collaboration

The compassionate face of JYOTI could be seen in the Members of some JYOTI Units especially that of DBMS High School, Kadma and Tarapore School who have been collaborating with the Bread Bank of Jamshedpur in sharing food of the better-off children with the hungry.

Taking Yoga Classes

JYOTI Members of Sacred Heart Convent School organize periodic Yoga classes for the lesser privileged children within the campus. These children have been receiving free education and the JYOTI Members teach them various subject and they find it rewarding to do so.

Pitchers for Wayfarers

What a noble idea it was that the Narbheram School JYOTI Members creatively displayed a sense of thoughtfulness to plant pitchers in city squares to provide drinking water to the wayfarers in summer season. This act of kindness drew people’s attention and was well appreciated.

Literacy Programs

JYOTI Members carry out variety of social work. Every Unit tries to engage its members in some social work or the other. The Narbheram JYOTI unit engaged its members in teaching the adult members how to read and write. The adult enthusiasts have been profiting from this venture.

Rural Exposure Trips

Rural exposure programs for JYOTI Members is one of the ventures of the outreach work of JYOTI. Some JYOTI Units have been arranging village outreach work for its members where the members get a chance to travel to rural areas to interact with lesser privileged children.

Caring for Mother Earth

As part of ecological concerns JYOTI Members organize seminars on ecological concerns. Some of the JYOTI Units have been regularly engaging the members of JYOTI in cleanliness drives in the city of Jamshedpur which is praiseworthy.
